The Storage Group (TSG), an Internet-marketing company serving the self-storage industry, has received a certificate of compliance for the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard (DSS), put in place by the PCI Security Standards Council for entities that process, store and transmit credit card data. TSG passed Trustware security tests in November and December, according to a press release.
“Nowadays, so many transactions take place over the Internet; and everyone is well aware that there is a kind of danger in doing them, so we at The Storage Group are doing our utmost to make sure everything is secure,” said Steve Lucas, chief operating officer. “Everyone at TSG is working to make sure there is no chance of a breach as information passes from point A to point B.”
Although TSG doesn’t store customer information, it does collect and pass credit card information through to property-management systems that integrate with its products, such as the ClickandStor move-in platform, according to the release. ClickandStor has an auto-pay function and processes Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments. “Even though The Storage Group doesn’t keep any of the data that we collect, we felt that assuring our customers and their renters that they were secure would be beneficial to everyone,” Lucas said.
Based in Maitland, Fla., TSG provides online tools and marketing solutions to the self-storage industry. The company's services include local-listing management, mobile websites, online rentals, pay-per-click advertising, search engine optimization, social media marketing and website development.
TSG also announced it will relocate its headquarters in Maitland to 668 N. Orlando Ave., Suite 210, on Feb. 1 to accommodate company growth. The new office comprises 1,687 square feet. All of the company’s phone numbers will remain the same, officials said. TSG will maintain its western regional office in Fort Collins, Colo.
