Centershift Inc., a provider of self-storage management software, announced the resignation of company president and CEO Terry Bagley, effective Aug. 30, among other changes to its executive team. The company also launched Store Endeavor, a bundled product targeted at large self-storage operators that encompasses the entire Centershift suite of technologies and services.

Bagley left to pursue other interests, according to company officials. He will be replaced by James Hafen, one of the companys original founders, who has served as a senior vice president and chief technical officer since 2001.

Other changes to the senior management team include the naming of Mark Smith, another company founder, to senior vice president of product strategy. Eleven-year company veteran David Voorhies has been promoted to senior vice president of product development from his position as vice president of application services. Steve Hall has been promoted to vice president of operations after spending four years as systems and operations manager.

Bagley spent 11 years leading Centershifts growth in the self-storage management software space. He also resigned his position on the companys board of directors, although he will continue to serve as a consultant during the transition to Hafen. "Terry brought a lot of skill and talent to the table, and Centershift relied heavily upon Terry throughout the last decade to solidify our leadership position in the industry, said John Bilton, vice president of business development and marketing. We certainly wish him all the best in the future."

"I was brought on to the Centershift team to help the company execute our board's strategy to deliver its award-winning suite of management software to large and mid-sized owner operators," Bagley said. "We have certainly achieved that objective. I have very much enjoyed my time and the experience I gained while at Centershift, and will treasure the company and industry relationships I made for the rest of my career. Centershift has an outstanding technology pedigree, and I have no doubts that I am leaving it in an excellent position for continued success."

In succeeding Bagley, Hafen brings significant business and technology experience to his new leadership role, company officials said. He has worked in various capacities at several technology-based companies, including Evans & Sutherland, Megahertz Corp., Seagate, and USRobotics. Hafen also previously served as director of application development at real estate investment trust Extra Space Storage Inc., where he was the visionary and architect behind the companys Internet-based storage-management system that later evolved into the Centershift Store application, officials said. He will also assume a seat on Centershifts board of directors.

The release of Store Endeavor coincides with the companys operational changes. Designed to allow large operators total control over their business-management system, the bundle is a turnkey package of hardware, database, hosting environment, source code, documentation, and professional consulting services.

Extra Space Management Inc., the facility-management arm of Extra Space Storage, has entered an agreement to purchase the product suite. Centershift expects the Salt Lake City-based REIT to have full adoption of Endeavor by early 2014.

Also based in Salt Lake City, Centershift provides Internet-based rental-management and point-of-sale software solutions for the self-storage industry. Its clients include REITs and ownership/management organizations of all sizes. The companys Store Enterprise and Advantage applications were designed for integration with websites, call centers, web aggregators, iPhones, centralized mail services, corporate offices and other business systems.
