eBid Storage Auctions, a provider of online self-storage auctions, has rebranded it services under the name Lockerfox. eBid launched in the Charlotte, N.C., market last July and introduced an online platform in November that allows for real-time, cloud-driven bidding from buyers using Web and mobile devices.
"This rebranding underscores our ongoing commitment to building an online storage-auction platform that provides an easy-to-use, fast, fun experience for auction bidders and self-storage facilities," said Peter Allen, chief technology officer.
Recently released service features, including advanced user management, regional and divisional support, and bulk facility import, are targeted at large, multi-facility operators. "When we looked at practical issues of everyday facility and auction management, it became clear that mirroring the customer's operational structure in Lockerfox would bring benefits," Allen said. "Self-storage facilities can be grouped into regions and divisions, with the benefit of ensuring consistent auction configuration across the enterprise,"
The company also intends to release additional features during the first quarter this year that will allow centralized auction-policy management based on states or regions, officials said in a press release.
The company had previously announced plans to expand its service area in 2015 and continues to offer introductory pricing that allows operators to try the platform at no cost.
Lockerfox was founded by self-storage industry veterans and a technology entrepreneur, according to the release.
