Mini-Storage Messenger, a monthly trade periodical for the self-storage industry and flagship publication of MiniCo Publishing, has announced the launch of its first annual “Outstanding Green Facility” Award. The winner will be selected based on the following criteria:
- Energy-efficient features
- Water-efficient features
- Use of innovative, unique, environmentally friendly building materials
- Challenges overcome during building
- LEED certification
- Overall design and landscaping
- Indoor air quality
- Overall environmental impact of facility
- Green marketing techniques
The competition is open to all self-storage facilities, and entries may be submitted by owners, operators, builders, managers or others. The winning facility will receive a trophy and a feature article in the April 2010 issue of MSM. The deadline for submission is Jan. 25, 2010, and complete entry instructions may be downloaded at Ministoragemessenger.com.
