6Storage, which provides access-control equipment, management software and Web-design services to the self-storage industry, has released a new version of its management-software product. 6Storage V2 includes a simplified user interface along with several new features, including multiple-location management, customizable discounts and promotions and lead management. It also offers a tenant-portal application program interface (API) and integration with third-party applications, according to a press release.
The tenant-portal API allows consumers to rent units through a self-storage operator’s website without having to be redirected to an external URL. Third-party integrations have been added for accounting, online payments and access control. The new version also allows operators to create different storage categories, such as boat/RV units and portable containers. Additional enhancements include mobile-responsive website templates and a native-language translation feature that allows users to choose their preferred language.
“We have been customizing the application for our customers since inception, adding new functions for U.S. and non U.S. markets,” said Mastan Vali, co-founder and product head. “Now we took a step further in remolding the entire application for 2020, and this is just the beginning.”
Based in San Diego, 6Storage also offers an online unit-space calculator that can be integrated with self-storage websites, search engine optimization services and social media marketing. Its products are in use by facility operators in more than 28 countries, the release stated.
