Storage Structures Inc., a national metal-building subcontractor for the self-storage industry, has introduced its new Alpha light-gauge, 10-by-10-foot framing system, which is comprised mainly of factory-formed and -assembled columns and beams. Alpha changes a project’s construction sequence so partition panels can be installed after the roof, which allows other trades to begin work up to two months sooner, according to a press release. It also eliminates concrete stains on the panels and offers ongoing flexibility in unit mix or alternative building uses.
“In developing the Alpha Framing System, we have focused on solving the major problems of our industry including time of construction, availability of labor and staining on the final product,” said Chris Pearson, owner-operations of research and development. “As such, our system reduces man hours in the field by utilizing factory-formed modular materials and a simplified design to install, while at the same time providing superior performance in wind-uplift, sheer and gravity loads. Finally, there is nothing better than turning over a building free of concrete stains on the partition panels.”
The system “provides a cleaner, faster and stronger design as compared to traditional framing systems,” the release stated. It can be engineered, designed and sealed anywhere in the United States.
Founded in 2007 and headquartered in Villa Rica, Ga., Storage Structures offers design, engineering and erection capabilities for all types of storage buildings.
