Australia mobile-storage operator TaxiBox, in conjunction with its capital partners, has launched Calcumate, an SaaS (software as a service) calculator for the self-storage industry. Facility operators can plug the white-label offering into their websites to help customers select the right size storage unit. The product uses 3D visualizing to show how much space is required as well as how to pack the unit in the most efficient way, according to a press release.
The initial concept was developed to serve the company’s Australian customer base. TaxiBox then decided to expand the scope of the product and offer an off-the-shelf plug-in to noncompeting markets outside the country.
“We developed a product that’s next-level in terms of functionality, interaction and features, which made a huge difference to our core business—improving conversions, increasing leads and, in general, providing a remarkable experience to our customers,” said Ben Cohn, managing director. “Our customers really took to it, so we decided to invest further, looking at how we could support other customer-focused storage providers in the states.”
TaxiBox will showcase its new offering at the Inside Self-Storage World Expo, April 1-4, at The Mirage Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The company will exhibit in booth 1126 under the name “Calcumate Storage Calculator.”
Founded in 2010, TaxiBox operates six facilities in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, Australia. The company is known for its taxi motif on its trucks and storage pods. Units are wrapped in bright-yellow covers that feature black-and-white checkered striping synonymous with yellow taxi cabs.
