The Jenkins Organization Inc., a self-storage management company, hired Monty Rainey as district manager. Rainey will oversee properties in Oklahoma and the Texas markets of Austin, San Antonio and West Houston. He also will expand the companys management operations along the Interstate-35 corridor in Texas.
Rainey has experience in self-storage operations, including more than 17 years in storage management. His areas of expertise include store-level operations, local marketing initiatives, revenue management, team development and leadership, and structuring policy and procedures, company officials said.
He was most recently area manager in the Austin and San Antonio markets for Sovran Self Storage, a publicly traded real estate investment trust. While with Sovran, Rainey led teams at as many as 24 facilities, ranking in the top 10 percent for net operating income in three of the last four years, Jenkins officials said.
I know Monty very well and have seen what he brings to the table, said John Manes, chief operating officer at Jenkins, who previously worked with Rainey at Sovran. His commitment to excellence will play a critical role in expanding our company even further.
Based in Houston, The Jenkins Organization has a managed-property portfolio valued at more than $200 million. The company specializes in self-storage acquisitions, development and management. Its real estate development services include sale-leaseback and build-to-suit transactions.
