Inside Self-Storage (ISS), the provider of a monthly magazine and bi-annual tradeshows for the self-storage industry, will hold a drawing to give away $10,000 in charity-donation funds to state self-storage associations at its Las Vegas Expo, Feb. 20-23, 2007, at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino.
All state-level storage associations have been automatically entered to win one of five $2,000 grants. The recipients will be announced at the start of the Prime-Time Open Forum on Wednesday, Feb. 21, at 4:45 p.m. The winning groups can donate the funds to a charity of their own choosing, or they can pass the funds to an association member for charity placement.
"The aim of this new program is threefold: to help storage associations be recognized as real community partners in the areas they serve; to create positive public awareness of self-storage; and, of course, to support worthwhile charitable causes," said Teri Lanza, ISS business development manager. "Our industry associations work hard, safeguarding operator rights and providing valuable member resources. At the end of the day, there aren't always funds for altruistic endeavors. Inside Self-Storage is launching initiatives to assist."
The Inside Self-Storage Las Vegas Expo is the industry's largest international conference and tradeshow. It is sponsored by ISS magazine, a monthly publication dedicated to the needs of storage owners, operators, managers, investors, developers and suppliers.
