Meathead Mini Storage, which operates two self-storage facilities in California, has opened a wine-storage facility in San Luis Obispo, Calif. Meathead Wine Storage at 4468 Broad St., Suite 110, offers 427 units that will hold 27 to 360 wine cases. The facility is a supplement to the company’s existing 92-locker wine-storage facility that opened in the city in 2014 at 3600 S. Higuera St., according to the source.

Site features include redundant, monitored temperature and humidification systems, controlled access, video cameras, motion-detection lighting, and a backup power plan. The business also accepts wine deliveries on behalf of customers.

“It is with great pride that we announce the grand opening of our newest wine-storage facility here, in our hometown of San Luis Obispo,” said Aaron Steed, CEO of Meathead Movers. “A lot of careful planning and time went into developing a facility that we know will continue to meet our promise to our clients of superior service and first-class amenities.”

Meathead Wine Storage is partnering with neighboring business WineSneak, a bar and outlet store, to a host a grand-opening celebration on May 3, 5-7 p.m. Open to the public, the event will include local wines, food and discounts on wine storage. “What better way to open a new wine-storage facility than to enjoy some of our favorite wine with the community that has supported us for more than 22 years,” Steed said.

Meathead Mini is owned by Meathead Movers Inc., a family-owned and -operated business. Founded in 1997 in San Luis Obispo by brothers Aaron and Evan Steed while they were in high school, the company employs student-athletes as its labor force. It opened its first self-storage location in San Luis Obispo in 2010 and a second site in Oxnard in 2017.
