McCarthy's Storage World is investing £250,000 to expand its three self-storage facilities in Harrogate, Leeds and Wakefield, England. The company plans to add 10,000 square feet in 200 units. In addition to internal warehouse-style space, the addition will include the first drive-up units at its Wakefield site, according to the source. McCarthy’s also has a new facility under development in Clifton Without, England.
“Demand is increasing as more and more people are seeing how self-storage can be of benefit in a range of situations. For personal reasons, people often use self-storage to manage big changes in their lives. But we have also seen an increase in businesses using self-storage; for example, eBay traders and ‘pick and pack’ companies trading on the Internet,” said Mike McCarthy, managing director.
McCarthy’s Storage World is the operating brand for MJ McCarthy Holdings Ltd. Founded more than 50 years ago, it also provides removals services, records storage, shredding and other business services.
