Update 2/23/18 – Access Self Storage of Portsmouth, England, has once again launched a campaign to collect chocolate Easter eggs, which will be donated to Rowans Hospice in Waterlooville, England. Candy donations will be accepted at 28-34 Herbert St. until March 26.

“We’ve worked to support Rowans Hospice for years because we really believe in the amazing work they do,” said Philip Hall, facility manager. “Our community donated a staggering 152 eggs last year, so they have really raised the bar. It would be amazing to smash this target in 2018 and make this the best possible Easter for residents of Rowans Hospice, who really do appreciate every act of kindness.”

More than 3,800 chocolate eggs have been donated to various local organizations since Access started its Easter Egg Appeal in 2011, the source reported.

2/29/16 – Access Self Storage has expanded its appeal for chocolate Easter eggs for various charities to include its storage properties in Camberley and Cheam. Last year’s appeal garnered 500 chocolate eggs for eight U.K. charities.

The Camberley management team hopes to fill a unit at 14, 15 Admiralty Way with chocolate eggs as well as biscuits and cakes. The donations will benefit Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, which operates three hospitals in the area.

“This is our first year of getting involved with the company-wide Easter egg appeal and we’ve set ourselves the challenge of beating the Guildford and Kingston branches, where customers regularly donate around 50 eggs to their chosen charities,” property manager Mike Blaszkowicz told the source.

Treats collected by the managers at 92 Oldfields Road in Cheam will benefit the Garwood Foundation, a local charity that provides services and support to adults and children with disabilities. “We’re donating a sizeable storage room to house as many chocolate eggs as possible,” said manager Gabriel Kroukamp.

Donations can be made until March 24 at the company’s stores in Camberley, Cheam, Coventry, Guildford, Kingston, Manchester, Mitcham, Northampton, Nottingham, Portsmouth and Southampton, England.

Since Access launched the appeal in 2011, it has collected and donated more than 2,000 chocolate eggs to various organizations. Last year, Access Self Storage in Coventry collected the most, amassing 140 chocolate eggs. The Manchester property came in second with 100 eggs, followed by the Kingston property with 54 eggs.

3/17/2015 – Access Self Storage is once again asking community members to help collect chocolate Easter eggs for children’s charities. The company is aiming to collect 1,000 chocolate treats this year, which is 200 more than last year’s tally.

This year’s recipients include Children's Adventure Farm Trust, Kingston NHS Hospital Foundation Trust, Northamptonshire County Council Adoption Team, Rainbows Children's Hospice, Rowans Hospice, Royal Surrey County Hospital, The Salvation Army and Tiny Tim's Children's Centre.

“We are asking everyone to spread a little sweetness this Easter by giving eggs to a number of benefitting charities,” said Helen McPhall, manager of Access Self Storage of Portsmouth, England.

Donations can be made until March 27 at the company’s stores in Coventry, Guildford, Kingston, Manchester, Mitcham, Northampton, Nottingham, Portsmouth and Southampton, England. The eggs will then be delivered to the charities along with a flower-filled Easter bonnet created by local florists.

2/28/2014 Two Access Self Storage facilities in the United Kingdom are asking community members to help collect chocolate Easter eggs through April 17 for children’s charities. The facility on Leestone Road in Manchester is collecting the chocolate treats for Children’s Adventure Farm Trust, which provides programs for terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children. The company will double any donation of 100 eggs to the charity. Its sister store on Roman Road in Cricklewood is supporting The Children’s Society, which offers a network of programs including drop-in services for runaways and children's centers.

Access Self Storage participates in a number of charity drives year-round. In December, the company brought in 4,000 toy donations during its annual Christmas Charity Appeal, which supported 21 U.K. charities.

Located at the Booth Bank Farm, a 17th century farmhouse in Cheshire countryside, Children’s Adventure Farm Trust includes an art room, sports hall, playground and sensory garden.

Founded 130 years ago, The Children’s Society works with vulnerable and disadvantaged children across the United Kingdom. The organization also lobbies for changes on the behalf of children, and conducts research on the issues affecting children.

Access Self Storage operates more than 50 facilities in the United Kingdom, with a large concentration in Greater London.
