Janus International Corp., a manufacturer of self-storage roll-up doors and building components, is hosting a grand opening on Oct. 17 of its new manufacturing facility in Butler, Ind., the company’s first plant in the Midwest and fourth in the United States. Self-storage and commercial door models will be manufactured and shipped from the new location.
The open house, 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., will include plant tours, food, interactive games and other events. Those interested in attending should register at www.janusintl.com/Butler by Oct. 13. The company has arranged a discount room rate for out-of-town guests at the Hampton Inn Auburn. More information can be obtained by contacting Leeann Fleming at 770.280.5857 or [email protected].
Janus began designing the facility about a year ago. The new plant, which includes a 43,000-square-foot building and brings about 50 new jobs to the area, involved the conversion of an existing structure. The company invested $650,000 to lease, equip and renovate the facility. As part of the project, it will receive a $475,000 Economic Development for a Growing Economy tax credit from the Indiana Economic Development Corp.
The Northeast Indiana location was selected for its proximity to steel mills and its labor-stable environment. It will also offer more attractive freight terms for customers in the Midwest and Northeast, according to a company press release.
Janus is a manufacturer of rolling doors and building components for the self-storage, commercial and industrial markets. Headquartered in Temple, Ga., the company has eight locations, including a joint venture in Mexico.
