Commercial real estate company Colliers International Group Inc. has hired James “Ashley” Compton to serve as the firm’s national director of self-storage investment sales through its Nashville, Tenn., office. Compton most recently served as a first vice president in the Nashville office of CBRE Group Inc., a commercial real estate services and investment firm.
During his 10 years at CBRE, Compton sold or listed more than 9.9 million square feet of self-storage property across the United States, which was valued at more than $632 million, the source reported. He was chosen as the firm’s top national self-storage broker in 2014 and 2015. During his tenure, he represented Bank of America, GE Capital, Regions Bank and U-Haul International Inc., among others.
“Ashley has established himself as a key national leader in self-storage investment, and we are delighted he will be joining our team at Colliers,” Janet Miller, CEO and market leader for Colliers Nashville, told the source. “He will be a great addition to our team, taking on a national leadership role for Colliers International.”
At Colliers Nashville, Compton will join a team of about 40 brokers working on industrial, investment, multi-family, office and retail property sales. The firm leases and manages more than 12 million square feet of commercial space in Middle Tennessee, according to the source.
