Update 9/18/15 – Moove In Self Storage has concluded the expansion of its Centerville location in Lancaster, Pa. The project included a renovation of the facility’s exterior, adding the company’s barn façade. Other improvements include a demo storage unit, new entrance, added interior retail space and new windows.
A mix of traditional and climate-controlled units were added to the interior, and 10 extra-large units comprising 3,600 square feet offer drive-up access, according to IREC officials. Several outdoor parking spaces have also been added including 30- and 50-foot spaces for RVs.
Other property improvements include new fencing, landscaping and paving. New security features include exterior lighting and additional video cameras.
8/14/14 – Moove In Self Storage is set to begin the final development phase of its Centerville location in Lancaster, Pa. The facility will add 22,900 square feet of space, including a new office and some climate-controlled and outside-access units. The project is slated to be completed by the end of September, according to a press release.
To prepare for construction inside the converted warehouse, several industrial tenants were vacated or moved to an area within the structure that’s unsuitable for self-storage, according to officials from Investment Real Estate Construction LLC (IREC), which will design and build the addition. The facility currently comprises 50,000 square feet.
IREC is a branch of York, Pa.-based Investment Real Estate LLC (IRE), a property-management and consulting firm specializing in the self-storage industry. IRE has previously been involved with this project, providing a feasibility study, construction management, property management and brokerage services.
Moove In is also working with IREC on improvements to two recently acquired self-storage facilities that expanded the company’s reach into the Baltimore market. It operates 12 facilities in Huntingdon, Lancaster and York counties in Pennsylvania.
