Marcus & Millichap, a commercial property-investment firm serving the self-storage industry, has promoted Joel Deis to national director of the company’s National Self-Storage Group. Deis also serves as regional manager of the firm’s Seattle office, a position he’ll maintain in addition to his new responsibilities, according to a press release.
“Joel’s personal background in self-storage and track record of success as a proven leader within the firm make him well-suited to the role,” said Alan L. Pontius, senior vice president and national director of the company’s specialty divisions. “As national director of the firm’s National Self-Storage Group, Joel will play an instrumental role in growing the firm’s market share in this segment.”
Prior to joining the management team as a sales manager in 2012, Deis was consistently ranked among the top five self-storage agents companywide, the release stated. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Washington. Deis also played football at the college from 1998 to 2001 and was a member of the 2001 Rose Bowl championship team.
