In today’s challenging business economy, self-storage owners and operators are seeking ways to improve performance and weather the tough months ahead. They can find them at the Inside Self-Storage World Expo in Las Vegas, Jan. 26-29, where industry experts will share the “Top Three Strategies for Self-Storage Survival and Success in 2009.”
On Jan. 26, a panel of specialists will present an opening address covering critical strategies that will help self-storage businesses endure and even thrive in the upcoming year. The event will take place at 9 a.m. at the Sands Expo & Convention Center. Moderated by industry consultant Jim Chiswell, the session will include contributions from Jeffrey Greenberger, partner in Katz, Greenberger & Norton LLP; Terry Campbell, vice president of sales and marketing for BETCO Inc.; and Bob Copper, owner of Self Storage 101.
Attendees will find out what some of the industry’s top operators are doing to sustain and improve facility value and ensure they can act when the economy improves, whether to expand, develop, sell or refinance. They’ll get insight to the changing legal climate of the industry as well as an overview of the risks for which they’ll need to be prepared. Next, they’ll learn about the impact of facility upgrades including physical refurbishments and technology. Finally, they’ll get tips for taking facility performance to the next level through employee training, phone sales and customer service.
The ISS Expo features four days of educational seminars, supplier showcases and networking opportunities. It is sponsored by Inside Self-Storage magazine, a monthly trade publication for owners, operators, managers, investors and suppliers of the storage industry.
