Even if your walls and fences are breached, the right surveillance can reveal who was behind the unit break-in or door tagging, and lead to police bringing the perpetrators to justice. The two phone calls self-storage managers most hate to make are those to delinquent tenants and the police. The latter, of course, means criminal activity has occurred at a facility, and the ordeal of notifying tenants, cleaning up messes (especially from vandalism) and participating in an investigation begins.

Inside Self-Storage (ISS) is in the midst of writing a security and technology report, which will be downloadable for free on July 18. The report will look at the current tools available to keep your tenants' belongings safe and share insights from industry experts about what the future brings in terms of security goodies.
