Three exclusive, invitation-only receptions sponsored respectively by vendors Baja Construction Co., Janus International Corp. and Michaels Wilder will be held on March 31 during the Inside Self-Storage World Expo in Las Vegas. Pre-qualified self-storage owners, managers, developers and investors have received invitations to attend the limited-seating events.
Janus International, a manufacturer of self-storage roll-up doors and building components, will host a Lunch & Learn event from noon to 1 p.m. titled “Facility Refurbishing: Adding Value to Your Site.” Invited guests will enjoy food and beverages while learning how refurbishing projects can enhance a self-storage property with little downtime and quickly recouped return on investment. The event features input from Patrick Reilly, president and CEO of Urban Self Storage Inc., a Seattle-based operator with more than 50 facilities in three states.
Baja Construction, a design/build company specializing in carports, RV/boat storage and Solar Support Structures, will host a private cocktail reception from 7:30-8:30 p.m. that will include the viewing of a documentary on Oakley Executive RV & Boat Storage in Oakley, Calif. The ambitious and eco-friendly storage project features more than 170,000 square feet of canopy parking and solar panels that generate more than 1.5 megawatts of solar power. The documentary details how Baja’s team was successful in generating cash flow at the facility and how other facility owners and investors can make money with a similar model.
Michaels Wilder, a marketing and talent-management services company, will also host a private cocktail reception from 7:30-8:30 p.m. to celebrate the company’s 25th anniversary. During the event, invited guests will learn how to reduce accidental clicks during pay-per-click campaigns using the company’s new SWIPE mobile technology. Studies show that 40 percent of mobile-device clicks are accidental, and SWIPE eliminates these from occurring, company officials said.
The expo’s concurrent education program, March 31 and April 1, includes nine tracks covering issues related to self-storage ownership, management, marketing, investment, finance, building, development, liability and more. Five add-on workshop options are also available, focusing on day-to-day management, development, facility ownership, legal issues and social media.
The conference and tradeshow will take place at the Paris Hotel & Resort. Discount registration rates are available through March 28.
Created for self-storage owners, managers, developers, investors and suppliers, the ISS Expo is the industry’s largest conference and tradeshow, comprising four days of education, exhibits and networking opportunities. The event focuses on strategies for generating revenue, best practices, current trends, and new products and services.
