Storage Authority Hires Director of Experience

Article-Storage Authority Hires Director of Experience

Storage Authority LLC, which operates self-storage facilities in four states and offers franchise opportunities, hired Barry Gorenstein as director of experience. He’s worked in the retail and self-storage industries for 30 years, according to a press release. His past employers include Andover Properties LLC, Chesapeake Resources Inc. and Storage Investment Management Inc. Having served as a director of operations for 32 self-storage properties, he has experience in budgeting, training, policies and procedures, vendor management, secret shopping and other aspects of facility management.

Gorenstein began his career in retail, moving from store manager to district manager in a short time. While employed with kitchen-supply store Lechters Housewares, he received the “Spirit Award,” which is given to one employee who achieves results while enduring adversity, the release stated.

“Barry’s retail experience is a breath of fresh air, and he is joining our team at precisely the right time,” said Marc Goodin, president of Storage Authority. “Storage Authority is an idea whose time has come, and with talented individuals like Barry being a part of the team, we can continue to grow and thrive in 2021 and beyond.”

Using his demonstrated talent in relationship-building, along with his extensive development and process-improvement experience, Gorenstein is excited to build on the company’s development, marketing, operations and training, he said. “Whether a concept is 50 years old or 2 years old, I have learned we need to be committed to improving, changing with the times and listening to our customers.”

Based in Sarasota, Florida, and co-founded by Marc Goodin and Scott House, Storage Authority launched its franchise model in 2014, offering existing self-storage owners and those looking to enter the industry the chance to build a business under the brand’s operational framework. The company also offers consulting services and facility-manager training. Storage Authority operates two self-storage facilities in Connecticut, one in Florida, and one each in New Jersey and Texas.
