Public Storage Inc., a self-storage real estate investment trust (REIT), recently acquired 45 Self Storage in Pflugerville, Texas. The property at 19339 Wilke Lane encompasses 63,918 net rentable square feet of storage space in 534 units. Built in 2010, the facility fronts Texas State Highway 45 and is 20 miles from downtown Austin, Texas.
Earlier this year Public Storage purchased a facility from Wellington Self Storage LLC in Lake Worth, Fla., for $11.4 million. The acquisition was made by PS Florida One, an affiliate company of the REIT.
Bill Bellomy, Michael Johnson and John Owens of Bellomy & Co. represented Public Storage and the seller, Pflugerville 45 Storage LLC, a Dallas-based limited-liability company, in the transaction. Bellomy & Co. is a real estate firm specializing in the self-storage industry. The company has offices in Austin, Houston and Lubbock, Texas.
Based in Glendale, Calif., Public Storage has interests in 2,234 self-storage facilities in 38 states, with approximately 144 million net rentable square feet. Operating under the Shurgard brand name, the company also has 188 facilities in seven European countries, with approximately 10 million net rentable square feet.
