The Arizona Self Storage Association (AZSA) released the 2009 update to its lease form used by operators in the state for self-storage rentals. Some of the significant modifications include:
- Changes to protect operators from lawsuits based variations in unit size
- Added insulation from liability related to assisting tenants with goods
- The addition of special powers for dealing with unit contents, such as alcoholic beverages, that cannot legally be sold at auction in the event of a default
- Added protection from inflated claims of alleged emotional or sentimental loss after a lien sale
