The Old Rainier Brewery building in Seattle, which currently offers commercial space, a gallery, glass-blowing facilities, self-storage and work-loft space, is set to undergo the second phase of what’s identified in city documents as Rainier Storage & Work Lofts. The project plan for the seven-story building at 3250 Airport Way S. calls for about 59,500 square feet of self-storage space and 65,300 square feet reserved for craft-work space, according to the source.

The mixed-use project is slated to include two levels of parking and about 7,400 square feet of retail space fronting Airport Way. Self-storage will share space with craft rooms on the second, third and fourth floors, the source reported. Exterior elements include concrete masonry and metal siding. Construction is estimated at $17.7 million.

Craft space on the fifth floor will face a courtyard featuring several walkways, a pond and fountain. The sixth and seventh floors will also be reserved for craft-work space, according to the source.

The property owner is listed as Patrick Reilly, who is president and CEO of Seattle-based Urban Self Storage. The company owns about 60 facilities in Arizona, New Mexico, Oregon and Washington. Its portfolio comprises more than 3.2 million net rentable square feet in more than 33,500 units. The company operates Urban Storage @ Rainier Brewery in the same block as the Rainier Storage & Work Lofts project.
