As I was turning my calendar to the month of September this morning, I realized just how close we are to the ISS Expo in Nashville, Tenn., Oct. 7-10. Wow! Time flies when you’re planning. It seems like just yesterday I was researching the city’s famed restaurants and clubs for a special article featured in the July issue.
This will be my second trip to the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center. If you’ve never had the pleasure of staying at this amazing destination hot spot, you have no idea what you’re missing. On the outside it resembles an elegant Southern plantation—albeit a huge one. Once you step inside, it’s a cornucopia of sights, sounds and fragrances. Nature lovers rejoice! The resort boasts 9 acres of lush gardens with native and exotic plants and flowers, winding paths and stunning waterfalls. You can also hop on a flatboat and play Huck Finn along the Mississippi-inspired river.
Speaking of boats, another Nashville treat is the General Jackson Showboat. The 300-foot paddlewheel riverboat cruises along the Cumberland River. The hotel provides a free shuttle service so getting there is simple. Plus, you’ll be entertained with live shows and yummy dinners.
But let’s not forget the real reason you should attend ISS Expo—to learn about our industry. The amazing lineup of industry experts speaking at this year’s Expo can’t be beat. And the topics cover everything for everyone—managers to potential investors. For a full list of topics and exhibitors, or to register, visit the ISS Expo website. I hope to see you there!
