Even if you're unable to attend the Inside Self-Storage Expo next week (March 14-16) in Las Vegas, you can still participate through Self-Storage Talk (SST), the industry's largest online community. The Self-Storage Q&A, which will be led by industry experts Jim Chiswell (member MisterJim444) and Mel Holsinger (member Mel Holsinger) on March 14, will provide an opportunity for in-person expo attendees and SST members from all over the world to interact.
To participate, log on to SST between 7:30 and 9 p.m. EDT (4:30 and 6 p.m. in Las Vegas). Post questions in the designated thread, "ISS Expo Q&A," which will open for posts at about 7 p.m. on the day of the session. Questions can run the gamut in terms of topicsmarketing, management, technology, legal issues or anything pertinent to owners, managers, investors or developers is fair game. Jim and Mel will ask for a couple of questions from SST to be read aloud to the room, which will be full of hundreds of industry professionals. As answers to these questions come in from the crowd, they will be summarized and posted to the forum. Similarly, a handful of questions from the live event will be posted to the forum. If you'd like to respond, your response may be read to the entire room (with only your SST moniker being used to identify you, of course).
The ISS team is looking forward to your participation and the interaction between expo attendees and SST members worldwide. To post on SST, you must be a registered member, but registration is free and takes only a few minutes. To register, visit www.selfstoragetalk.com and click "register."
If you're still on the fence about attending the expo in person, you can still register at www.insideselfstorageworldexpo.com. The current rates are in place through March 9. You can also register on site at the Paris Hotel when the expo begins on March 14. As always, I'm looking forward to seeing some forum regulars, to meeting new ones and to matching usernames with faces.
