U Hold The Key of North East England Supports ‘Suitability’ Job-Help Charity

U Hold The Key, which operates 11 container-based self-storage facilities in North East England, is supporting “Suitability” by providing free space in which to store the clothes the nonprofit provides for job interviews. The charity collects donations of suits, shirts, ties, shoes and accessories from businesses and the public, and distributes them to men in need, according to the source.

Based in Newcastle, Suitability was launched earlier this year by Darren Tate. Its mission is to boost the confidence of job-seeking men who lack access to business-appropriate clothing. In addition to providing interview-wear, it offers employment advice.

“U Hold The Key has been able to support our ever-growing stock, which was previously stored in my parents’ garage and loft,” Tate said. “This will support what we aim to achieve as a charity and provide us with the capacity to accept donations and support even more unemployed people within the North East.”

In fact, the facility operator has offered free space to several charities and social enterprises during the coronavirus pandemic. Subject to terms and conditions, those who needed it were invited to apply for up to six months of free storage at one of the company’s sites, the source reported.

“At the start of the coronavirus pandemic, while we dealt with our own business challenges like everyone else, we pledged to do our bit to support the wider community. The charity sector has been particularly impacted by the pandemic, so we decided to offer some of our self-storage containers free of charge to social enterprises to give them a helping hand in these challenging times,” said Damien Murphy, managing director of U-Hold’s parent entity, Parsons Containers Group of Companies. “There has been a lot of interest in our offer, and we’re helping out a variety of charities in different parts of the North East. We really admire the work that Suitability does and are very happy to be able to provide Darren with a safe, secure and easy-to-access space to store the organization’s growing clothing stock.”

U Hold The Key offers 1,500 storage containers that are accessible 24 hours a day.

Launched in 2000, Parsons is an independent, privately owned business that supplies shipping containers. Additional brands under the Parsons umbrella include ContainerContainer and Containers-Now.
