Sparkplug Capital LLC, which operates 127 self-storage properties under the Red Dot Storage brand, has acquired three facilities in Kansas and one in Louisiana. The company now operates properties in 15 states, according to a press release.
The purchase included A-B Mini Storage at 511 W. MacArthur Road in Wichita, Kan.; All Storage of Maize at 5081 N. Maize Road in Maize, Kan.; All Storage of Park City at 6331 Louisville Drive in Park City, Kan.; and Affordable Safe Storage at 207 Chatham St. in Monroe, La. Red Dot plans to upgrade the facilities with a new access-control system, LED lighting and video cameras. In addition, a 24-hour rental center will be added to each site.
“We are extremely excited about our expansion into the Kansas market and the continued overall growth of Red Dot Storage,” said CEO Seth Bent.
The seller of All Storage of Maize and All Storage of Park City was represented in the transaction by Brian Goldman and Larry Goldman, brokers with real estate firm RE/MAX Commercial.
Based in Boulder, Colo., Sparkplug launched Red Dot in 2013. Its portfolio comprises more than 5 million net rentable square feet.
