Update 1/17/19 – StorTrack has added several enhancements to its SiteFinder tool. Among the new features is the ability to filter searches by location type and count, including within a city or ZIP code and delineating between real estate investment trust (REIT) facilities and non-REIT locations. Users can use the tool to pinpoint areas that meet rate- and property-type threshold criteria, according to a press release.
The company has also added demographic filters that allow users to search cities or ZIP codes based on median household income, number of households and population. Searches can be narrowed to show only markets that match population criteria along with average rental rates and other factors, such as cities or ZIP codes with 50,000-plus people that also experienced average rate increases of 10 percent, the release stated.
Users can now also print or download any dashboard page within the platform.
9/5/18 – StorTrack, a division of 365 Media Inc. that offers competitor-pricing data, market-analysis tools and first-stage due diligence to the self-storage industry, has launched a mapping and search tool that allows Online Plus users to combine criteria when searching for development opportunities. SiteFinder is designed to narrow searches by using rates, trends, inventory, volatility, demographics and other metrics to identify matching locations, according to a press release.
“This tool is a major breakthrough for professionals in self-storage development,” said Jeff Brink, vice president. “This is the first tool that enables a user to set any kind of combined market criteria and immediately see corresponding cities or ZIP codes that match those criteria.”
Customers can save locations to their Online Plus dashboard for further analysis. The SiteFinder tool is a free upgrade for existing customers and isn’t available to non-subscribers.
The company also recently announced it has agreed to integrate its real-time rate data with the Self-Storage Rent Optimizer, a dynamic-pricing solution offered by revenue-management firm Prorize LLC.
StorTrack serves more than 2,000 self-storage facilities in North America with dynamic pricing data, local market intelligence, market-valuation insights, reports, and market-analysis tools. It tracks more than 30,000 facilities worldwide with daily pricing data, according to the release. It’s part of 365 Media, a global data company headquartered in Burlingame, Calif.
