U-Haul Moving & Storage of Osgood in Fargo, N.D., has completed a facility expansion, adding interior self-storage units as well as other improvements. The property at 5200 Veterans Blvd., which previously operated as eMove Self Storage, has been open since 2013, offering truck and trailer rentals, 237 drive-up storage units, and a limited selection of moving and packing supplies. Last month, U-Haul added a new two-story building containing 571 indoor storage units and a large retail showroom on an abutting 3.67-acre parcel. The facility now also includes a 5,000-square-foot U-Box portable-storage warehouse and a hitch bay.
"With this new facility, we have all the high-tech self-storage features customers have been asking for, like individually alarmed rooms and video-enabled security call stations. It really is a state-of-the-art facility," said Shawn Odden, president of the U-Haul Co. of Fargo. "Our customers are thrilled to see U-Haul investing in the city of Fargo. The south side of Fargo has been rapidly growing for the past six years, and our new Osgood location provides convenient access for all the customers on the south side of town."
The expansion of the Fargo facility was driven by U-Haul’s corporate sustainability initiatives, which support infill development to help local communities lower their carbon footprint, according to a company press release. U-Haul’s adaptive reuse of existing structures eliminates the amount of energy and resources required for new-construction materials and helps local cities diminish their unwanted inventory of unused buildings, U-Haul officials said.
Established in 1945, U-Haul International Inc. has more than 44 million square feet of storage space at more than 1,200 owned facilities throughout North America.
