U.K. operator Titan Storage recently opened its third storage facility in just over a year of operation. The company opened its first location in Littlehampton, West Sussex, England, last July and already has opened two additional facilities, including one last week in Braintree, Essex.

The company attributes its early success to customer service. “We wanted to break the mold completely,” said Karen Wozniak, executive manager. “In Littlehampton, there were other storage companies; but in our view, we wanted to offer more of a customer-focused service, rather than just a room and a key.”

Titan’s initial investment totaled £3 million, and the company’s directors expect to break even by November. “The Titan brand symbolizes confidence, and we are keen to grow nationally, which we are already doing,” said director Mark Van Adrichem. “We are opening another branch in Leamington Spa next spring, and there are more deals on the table; but it’s too early to announce others at this stage.”

To celebrate its one-year anniversary, the company recently held a charity event benefitting Chestnut Tree House Hospice, a children’s hospice serving East and West Sussex. Officials were also scheduled to participate in the Arundel Festival bathtub race last month.

Titan Storage was launched by Ducalian, a private-equity firm specializing in creating value through planning, developing and occupancy growth in the U.K. real estate market. Its self-storage facilities target businesses, students and private customers.
