The California Self Storage Association (CSSA) has partnered with the California Employers Association (CEA) to provide CSSA members with free access to a Human Resource (HR) Hotline and other HR-related resources. The CEA employs a staff of HR and labor-relations professionals to provide consultation services covering all aspects of employer-employee relations. CSSA members will be able to speak to CEA experts regarding state HR issues, according to a press release.
CSSA members can speak to CEA representatives over the phone Monday through Friday as well as communicate via e-mail, according to the release. They’ll also have CEA website access and receive a monthly newsletter and weekly e-mail bulletin highlighting current HR issues and employment-law developments in California.
“The human-resource realm has changed dramatically over the last 10 years, and we feel that by adding this free accessibility to the vast wealth of California Employers Association information and services, we will help our CSSA members in a substantial way,” said Erin King, executive director of the CSSA. “We are constantly looking at ways to improve self -storage in our state, and this human-resource addition will hopefully be used by all our members.”
The CSSA will receive monthly reports from the CEA about the types of calls it receives from its members. The CSSA intends to use that information to structure future classes and membership benefits, association officials said. As part of the partnership, the CEA will also help revamp the CSSA employee manual for members this year.
Access to the HR Hotline and availability of the manual template are expected to be ready on June 1.
The CEA has provided HR support to business owners in California for more than 75 years. Its staff, located throughout the state, has more than 180 years of combined experience, according to the company website.
CSSA is a nonprofit trade association dedicated to supporting the self-storage industry in California. The group offers educational events, networking opportunities, legislative advocacy and more.
