U.K. self-storage operator Store First will open its newest facility in Paisley, Scotland, near Glasgow. The location will be near the entrance of a business park, close to the city and Glasgow International Airport.
Glasgow is the fourth largest city in the United Kingdom, making it an ideal location to set up base for a growing self-storage company, said Tom Roberts, marketing manager for FJP Investment Ltd., which is actively pursuing investors for the storage brand. Store First currently has several facilities in northwestern England, with the goal of increasing its footprint to 50 locations across the U.K. within five years.
Store First Glasgow will offer four dock-level and three ground-level loading doors and internal height clearance of 32 feet. The property will also feature a sprinkler system, secure parking bays for 13 trailers and separate, private parking for 130 cars.
The Store First model blends traditional self-storage units with full business amenities for small businesses, including use of P.O. Boxes, free WiFi and private meeting rooms. Site amenities include office facilities, breakout areas, packaging and shipping services, complimentary moving services, and reception areas. Security includes closed-circuit television, coded electric gates and perimeter fencing.
A Storepod is an individual, high-security storage unit set in a Store First self-storage center. This is the easiest way to allow both individuals and businesses to manage belongings, equipment, furniture, stock and any other storable items in a secure and safe storage facility with 24-hour access seven days a week," Roberts said.
