The Texas Self Storage Association (TSSA) will feature entrepreneur and author George Hedley at its annual conference, Oct. 27-29, at the Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center in The Woodlands, Texas. With ties to the self-storage industry as a property developer, Hedley will speak during the TSSAs membership luncheon on Oct. 27.
Hedley started his construction business in 1977 with $500 to his name and guided it to $50 million in revenue in seven years. He has built or developed more than 250 projects including more than a dozen self-storage facilities. In addition to a business owner, he is also an author of business help books, including The Business Success Blueprint, a series of eight business workbooks with audio CDs. Hedley attributes his entrepreneurial success to fostering long-time, loyal customers, proper prioritizing, and management systems focused on making a profit and creating wealth.
During his presentation, Hedley will discuss why self-storage businesses will fail to grow if they do not focus on customer acquisition and retention. He will identify reasons companies fail to evolve and offer solutions to improve business, TSSA officials said. Topics also include setting self-storage facilities apart from competition, customer-loyalty programs, referrals, community involvement, marketing outreach, website conversion tactics, and special offers.

Established in 1986, the TSSA is a nonprofit trade association dedicated to enhancing the quality of self-storage in Texas. It provides industry education, research and discussion.
