A self-storage manager in Seattle has died after being stabbed in the neck during a robbery Saturday. The next day, police shot and killed one of the robbery suspects.
The manager at A-1 Self Storage, 2684 15 St. W., was working Saturday morning when he was confronted by two men and stabbed, police said. The 84-year-old man was still alive when taken to a local hospital, but died a short time later from his wounds, police said.
Police investigating the homicide came across one of the suspects Sunday afternoon in Belltown. According to police, the suspect was using the victims credit cards at stores around Seattle. Police were able to identify him through video footage and confronted him outside a store about 2:30 p.m. When he charged them, officers opened fire. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The mans age and name have not been released. Investigators said technicians are comparing the mans fingerprints to those found at A-1 Self Storage. Police are still looking for the second robbery suspect.
