The TSSA was already poised to raise a record-breaking amount during its 25th anniversary convention, but Daughtry raised the bar and issued a matching donation challenge to TSSA members and supporters. Members quickly rose to the challenge and exceeded the amount pledged.

Thanks to Daughtrys generous offer, the final tally of funds raised for the childrens burn hospital totaled $129,424. The board of directors presented Daughtry with the Above and Beyond award for leading by example during its recent meeting in San Antonio. His generous spirit exemplifies the best in our industry, said board president Tom McCloskey. He reminds us of how much the association has done for the industry and how we should do our best to be good corporate citizens within our communities.

Established in 1986, the Texas Self Storage Association is a non-profit trade association dedicated to enhancing the quality of the self-storage industry in Texas. The TSSA provides opportunities for members to increase their knowledge of the self-storage industry through education, research, discussion and exchange of information.

The next TSSA annual convention and tradeshow is Oct. 14-16 in San Antonio. Another round of charitable events are planned to support the work of the Shriners Hospital for Children, a healthcare system of 22 hospitals dedicated to improving the lives of children by providing pediatric specialty care, innovative research, and teaching programs for medical professionals.
