Schur Success Auction & Appraisal, a company that helps conduct self-storage lien sales, raised $3,550 for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in the first quarter of 2012.
We stared raising funds (for charity) in the fourth quarter of last year with a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project," said Shannon Schur, president and CEO. The Colorado Springs, Colo.-based auctioneer added the Wounded Warrior campaign was immediately embraced by the bidders who attend self-storage auctions at the more than 125 locations Schur Success serves in Colorado. That inspired Schur to take on a new this year.
Our wonderful bidders again pitched in," Schur said. Of the $3,550 raised, more than half was donated by self-storage auction attendees. The rest was a donation from the auction company, which held giveaways and auctioned off t-shirts to encourage donations. Between the two campaigns, Schur Success has raised $6,300 for charity.
The company selected Colorado-based Sense of Security, which provides funding and support to victims of breast cancer and their families, as its second-quarter recipient.
Schur Success is a nearly 30-year-old company and has held the exclusive auctioneer contract for the city and county of Denver for more than 24 years. The company conducts self-storage auctions, and works with government and commercial clients across Colorado.
The mission of Memphis-based St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital is to advance cures and means of prevention for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment.
