On Sept. 14, Buchanan Storage Capital, a provider of financial resources to self-storage owners nationwide, will host its seventh annual "Challenge for Children" fundraiser.

On Sept. 14, Buchanan Storage Capital, a provider of financial resources to self-storage owners nationwide, will host its seventh annual "Challenge for Children" fundraiser. The event, which generates money for United Way's Success By 6 (SB6) program, will take place at the Newport Dunes in Newport Beach, Calif. This year's undertaking will pit 48 real estate industry teams against each other in competitions of volleyball, basketball, a kayak/run relay, a water-bike relay and, of course, donations. Last year, participants raised more than $350,000.

SB6 is the nations largest network of early-childhood coalitions, focused on improving school readiness through community change. Operating under local United Way organizations, these coalitions raise awareness of the importance of early childhood development, increase access to services, advocate for public policies and improving systemsbudgets, laws and supportsto improve childrens lives. In the last 5 years, more than 500,000 kids have benefited from SB6 early learning, child care, parent education, health, literacy and family resource-center programs.
