StorageMart, a Columbia, Mo.-based self-storage operator with more than 172 facilities in Canada and the United States, has acquired A Storage Inn in Fort Myers, Fla. The property at 13990 McGregor Blvd. is the company’s ninth facility in the state.
“This off-market transaction fits perfectly into our middle-market strategy. We’ll continue to look for new markets as opportunities like this present themselves,” said CEO Mike Burnam.
The facility comprises 31,000 square feet of storage space in 375 units. StorageMart plans to renovate the nine-building property by adding more units, fresh paint and new exterior lighting as well as upgrading the sales office. The parking lot will also be repaved and a second entrance will be added, according to a company press release.
“The second gated entrance will make it easier for customers to access their units,” said Weyen Burnam, vice president of development and acquisition. “We want each and every customer to enjoy the benefits of Fort Myers storage with us.”
Founded in 1999, StorageMart serves more than 75,000 self-storage customers. The company operates in Chinese, English, Punjabi, Quebecois French and Spanish.
