Dahn America360 Storage II DST, which is sponsored by self-storage operator Dahn America360 LLC, has purchased a Sentry Self Storage facility in Athens, Ga., and rebranded it as Mini U Storage. The property at 2375 Lexington Road consists of nine buildings comprising 104,000 rentable square feet of storage space in 705 units, 323 of which offer climate control. It also has five vehicle-parking spaces. Built in 2006, the facility was expanded in 2008 and 2011.
Athens is the sixth largest city in Georgia and a part of the Athens-Clarke County Metropolitan Statistical Area, according to a Dahn press release. “The Athens site is within two miles of the University of Georgia, and the facility is well-known in the area. It’s our first purchase in the state, and we are very active in the national marketplace,” said Robert Bradley, executive vice president in charge of acquisitions and development.
Dahn and its affiliates have recently acquired several properties. The new locations are in Boynton Beach and Bradenton, Fla.; Crowley and Tomball, Texas; and Vacaville, Calif.
Based in Irvine, Calif., Dahn America360 develops and manages self-storage real estate investments. A division of Dahn Corp., the company and its affiliates have acquired, developed or sponsored more than 6.5 million square feet of storage under the Mini U Storage brand name. It currently owns 33 facilities consisting of nearly 2.2 million square feet and 20,000 units.
