A man who stored drugs in a Silver Spring, Md., self-storage unit has been sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment and three years of supervised release for possession and intent to distribute, according to an article in The Washington Post. Steven Hess, 41, was found in possession of 86.32 liters of 1,4-butanediol, which is similar to the date-rape drug GHB, and 124.7 liters of gamma butyrolactone. Hess’ co-defendant, Mark Hawkins, 26, pleaded guilty to the same charges and faces sentencing on Aug. 12.
