Self-storage operator LifeStorage of Addison, Ill., which is part of a chain of 28 self-storage facilities in Illinois, Nevada and Wisconsin, is hosting its inaugural car show on Aug. 31. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Northern Illinois Food Bank.

The event at 426 S. Westgate St. is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will include food and refreshments, raffles and prizes including two $25 gift certificates from Hooters restaurant, 20 free admission passes for Mecum Auctions show on Oct. 10-12, and one free rental of a 5-by-10 storage unit for two months. Free dash plaques will be given to the first 100 cars to participate.
The Northern Illinois Food Bank is a nonprofit organization that distributes food to 600 network partners in 13 counties including food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and youth and senior feeding programs.
Founded in 2002, LifeStorage has 25 locations in the Chicagoland area as well as two in Nevada and one in Wisconsin.
