Self-storage operator StorageMart is sponsoring a 5k run/walk May 19 in Rockford, Minn., to benefit Blairs Tree of Hope, a nonprofit that assists families of children battling terminal illnesses.
Blairs Tree of Hope is a tenant at the StorageMart Hopkins, Minn., self-storage property. The aim of the inaugural event at Lake Rebecca Park Reserve is to raise $15,000 for the charity.
Founded in 2007 by Tom and Kim Anderson in honor of the memory of their daughter, the mission of Blairs Tree of Hope is to help the families of children who have been hospitalized with a life-threatening illness. Blair was diagnosed with leukemia in 2005 when she was 14 years old. She succumbed to the illness after a two-year battle.
