Stor-Age Property REIT Ltd., which operates 37 self-storage facilities in South Africa, is sponsoring The Color Run South Africa this year. In addition to offering storage space for powdered paint for the series of 5K events, the operator is giving away tickets to each race throughout the year. To be eligible, participants need to follow the company’s Facebook page and watch for a “dash of color post” to enter, according to the source.
"The partnership with The Color Run South Africa is one that fits our brand well,” said Chris Oosthuizen, general manager of sales and marketing for Stor-Age. “We are excited to be part of an event that is young, fun and promotes a healthy lifestyle. I know our team will be keen to join the festivities and throw plenty of red paint."
Founded in 2012, The Color Run is an untimed race in which participants are peppered with paint throughout the course. After the race, the organization hosts a “Finish Festival” with music, dancing and more paint. Since 2013, The Color Run has hosted more than 200 events in 50-plus countries, according to its website.
Stor-Age became South Africa’s first self-storage real estate investment trust listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in November. Headquartered in Cape Town, it operates self-storage facilities in six South African cities. Established in 2006 by the Lucas family, it’s the operator appointed by Stor-Age Property Fund Managers Pty. Ltd. to manage and market the property portfolio owned by Stor-Age Property Holdings Pty. Ltd.
