Westy Self Storage of Stamford, Conn., was recently named a “Best of the Gold Coast” winner in the “Storage Facility” category by Moffly Media, which offers lifestyle events, publications and a website to residents in Fairfield County, Conn. The honorees were chosen by the readers and editors of Moffly’s five magazines.

The winners were honored July 28 during the “Best of the Gold Coast Connecticut” event at the Hilton Stamford Hotel & Executive Meeting Center. Tickets, which included drinks, food, entertainment and a raffle, were $65 per person. All of the proceeds benefited Kids in Crisis (KIC), a social-services organization that provides counseling, education and emergency shelter to local families. Westy donated two months of free storage rent and free use of a facility moving truck equipped with driver to the raffle.

“As a proud winner of the Best of the Gold Coast, the event has become even more meaningful to us as we are able to provide support to Kids in Crisis,” said Joe Schweyer, district director of Westy Self Storage in Stamford. “It is our privilege to contribute to Kids in Crisis, as they provide vital services and make such a positive impact on so many lives.”

Since its founding in 1978, KIC has helped more than 132,000 Connecticut children and families. Last year, more than 6,184 people received assistance from the organization.

“We are thankful to Westy Self Storage for their generous donation toward our raffle,” said KIC Executive Director Shari Shapiro. “With partners like Westy, we can continue helping to support the lives of countless children and families in our community that reach out to Kids in Crisis."

Founded in 1990, Westy Self Storage is headquartered in Stamford, Conn. It operates four facilities in Connecticut, four in New Jersey and seven in New York.
