StorageBlue LLC, which operates six self-storage facilities in New Jersey, has joined the local Sponsor A Highway Program, which aims to reduce litter along freeways. The fee-based sponsorship includes signage with the company logo, and participants can sponsor one or multiple miles. StorageBlue purchased four, the source reported.
The signage is provided by Adopt A Highway Maintenance Corp. (AHMC), a privately held business that partners with federal, state and local government organizations. Founded in 1990, the company provides highway signage in more than 22 states. Its employees are responsible for all highway litter removal, according to its website.
Sponsorships are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and fees vary by state. The program is open to most businesses, organizations and individuals.
In addition to traditional self-storage, StorageBlue offers a valet-style storage service called StorageBlue Now, which it launched in 2016.
