The 2011 Legal Learning Webinar Series, produced by Inside Self-Storage and attorney Jeffrey Greenberger, will kick off July 19 with its first installment, Whats Wrong With Your Self-Storage Lien Sales Since the Advent of Reality TV? Now in its sixth year, Legal Learning is a convenient online seminar series that teaches self-storage owners and managers about the legal risks they face in the operation of their business. The hour-long events include expert guidance from Greenberger as well as time for questions from the audience.

The July event will focus on the effect of reality TV programs Storage Wars and Auction Hunters on self-storage lien sales and changes some operators have made to their sales as a result. Believing some self-storage auctions have gotten away from the requirements of state lien laws, Greenberger will explain what operators need to do to bring their sales back in line with the statutes and avoid legal liability.

The next webinar in the series, Sept. 20, focuses on The Most Expensive Legal Mistakes You Can Make as a Self-Storage Operator. Greenberger will cover some of the most confusing legal topics faced by facility owners and managers, for example, what to do in cases when a tenant divorces, dies, becomes disabled or files bankruptcy. Hell answer questions such as who gets access to the unit in these situations, which court documents to follow and how to handle conflicts.

Finally, on Nov. 15, Greenberger will present his Legislative Roundup and Open Q&A: Your Self-Storage Legal Questions Answered. This webinar will provide an overview of self-storage legislative campaigns taking place or completed during the year and their significance to the industry as a whole. This special extended session will also include ample time for open Q&A, allowing attendees to get answers to lingering questions.

An online discussion relating to this webinar will be started Nov. 1 on industry community SelfStorageTalk.com, allowing attendees to ask their questions early. All attendees to the November event will also be entered to win a free standard education package for the Inside Self-Storage World Expo in Las Vegas, March 14-16, 2012.

All webinars will take place at 11:30 a.m. EST. The complete Legal Learning series is available for $45, and attendees have the option of attending the live version or accessing the recorded version at their convenience. Detailed webinar descriptions and registration info can be found at www.insideselfstorage.com/webinars.
