<p>U.K. self-storage operator Big Yellow was recently invited to the House of Lords for a tea party, thanks to one of the sports teams it sponsors, the Southwark Tigers Rugby Club. On April 10, Lord Tim Clement-Jones held a reception for some of the team's players, parents and sponsors, thanking them for all the work they do for the club.</p>

U.K. self-storage operator Big Yellow was recently invited to the House of Lords for a tea party, thanks to one of the sports teams it sponsors, the Southwark Tigers Rugby Club. On April 10, Lord Tim Clement-Jones held a reception for 100 of the team's players, parents, volunteers and sponsors, thanking them for all the work they do for the club.

The Southwark Tigers is the first inner-city rugby club for young people in England. The club has more than 150 players, with teams at all ages from 6 to 16.

Our parents were pleased to be recognized for the work that they do for the club. And it was great for me to be able to thank [Big Yellow] personally," said Vernon Neve-Dunn, founder of the Southwark Tigers. Southwark Tigers receives all its finding from sponsors. It costs c £20,000 per year to run the club.

During the event, attendees had access to a terrace overlooking the Thames. One of the parents made a Tigers cake, and the children performed the "Tigers Haka," a new dance they intend to do before each match. All the sponsors were given framed photographs of the players signed "In grateful thanks for your generous help and support."
