Venture capital firm Readen Holding Corp. has purchased Dutch self-storage company Beemster Vastgoed B.V. through its subsidiary Readen Industries Limited. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Beemster Vastgoed builds and operates self-storage facilities in the Netherlands. The deal includes the companys subsidiary Drachten Storage Holding B.V., which owns and operates a City Box self-storage franchise in the town of Drachten.

The City Box facility contains 3,000 square meters of storage space, featuring more than 350 units. The operation currently has 60 percent occupancy, but Readen Holding officials said the remaining units will be used as a distribution center and warehouse for another company subsidiary, D5 Mobile.

In addition to self-storage units, City Box offers moving boxes, wrapping paper, furniture coverings, tapes, ropes, tackles and protective blankets. Tenant-insurance coverages and transportation-rental services also are available.

Beemster Vastgoed will be renamed Readen Real Estate B.V., company officials said.
