Alasdair MacLennan, owner and director of Camel Self Storage in Sladesbridge, England, has purchased Camel Hire, a vehicle-rental company in nearby Wadebridge, and will relocate the business to the storage property this month, according to the source. The company’s vehicle fleet includes cars, minibuses and vans.
“The Camel Hire business has roots that go back a very long way in the area, and we are delighted to be taking on such a strong, well-established brand,” MacLennan told the source. “I am very pleased that we can keep Camel Hire in the local area, and I look forward to growing the business.”
Camel Hire was founded in 1978 but closed in September following the death of owner Philip Jones, the source reported. The Jones family also closed Eyres Garage, a vehicle-repair business, which it purchased after opening Camel Hire. The garage dates back more than 100 years and is also for sale.
MacLennan founded Camel Self Storage in 2009. The business targets residential and commercial customers in Bodmin, Sladesbridge and Wadebridge. It offers a range of portable-storage container and open-yard storage options, according to its website.
