Delaware Beach Storage Center (DBSC) in Lewes, Del., recently sponsored a TV segment on spring cleaning for “DelmarvaLife,” a program that offers community members advice on a range of topics. The show is broadcast Monday through Friday on WBOC 16 on the Delmarva Peninsula.
In the segment, WBOC Anchor Maxine Bentzel interviewed Timarie Thompson, who owns the self-storage facility with her husband, Blair, about ways homeowners and businesses can use self-storage during a decluttering project or a move. Thompson offered advice on what people should look for in a storage property, including its cleanliness and security measures. The six-minute segment also included a tour of the facility and its amenities. The video is available for viewing on YouTube.
Opened last summer, DBSC comprises 106,000 square feet of storage space in a three-story structure. It contains 680 climate-controlled and drive-up units, and offers records storage as well as gated storage for boats and RVs. Property features include 24-hour access, individual unit alarms, motion-sensor lighting, video cameras, and a retail office that sells moving and packing supplies.
The story of the Thompsons’ journey as first-time self-storage developers has been chronicled via several articles published by Inside Self-Storage, a provider of magazines, tradeshows, information resources, education products and an online community for the self-storage industry.
